Another effort. Take on an artillery battery with armored cars and some infantry.

Briefing:
Quote:12th June 1944
Almost one week has passed since the allied landing which is still considered a deception by the German high command. While the German forces are conducting a fighting withdrawal into the back country, the American and British forces are advancing.

You are a motorised reconnaissance patrol which infiltrated deep into enemy lines (more accidentally than on purpose) the previous night. During a rest half an hour before sunrise, the patrol leader announces his intent to only advance further up the highway until sunrise and then return home.
The advance until sunrise passes without any action. Just when the patrol leader is about to order the countermarch, the driver of his armored reconnaissance vehicle shouts out to have identified muzzle flashes and dust plumes up ahead - presumably from an enemy artillery battery! With the 'Eiserne Kreuz zweiter Klasse' in his eyes the patrol leader boldly orders:

'Listen up men! We are on highway 1 1km south of Colleville Sur Mer. Enemy artillery battery with at least five guns is identified approximately 500 meters ahaed. We are going to raid the battery and destroy as much guns as possible with the satchels in the truck and the guns of the armored cars before the enemy can bring in reinforcements. Then we withdraw south along highway 1.'
