We played that yesterday, and it was pretty uneventful. I'd like to hear some feedback on how to improve the mission.

I think the main problem is actually the Striders. The thermal optics make almost everything stand out in the flat, open terrain, and the heavy machine gun will move them down. So I'm considering removing the Striders completely in favor of some other transport (like, another truck, or have the infantry ride one of the convoy trucks)

Alternatively, I was thinking of replacing the HMG with either no weapon at all, or a GMG.

What do you think ?
I think you should keep one Strider without the mg, who could direct fire and scan for enemies. Without any optics we would be blind out there. Also maybe add some ammo and weapons in one of the trucks. I was almost running out of ammo for my mg and I didn't find any mags in any of the vehicles.

Other than that it was a good mission, made us work more like a team Smile

I agree with Kenwort. Having one unarmed Strider with thermals could spot the enemies easily, but it will force us to communicate smartly the enemy position so the infantry advance team can take them out. That alone could facilitate a cool mission!
Some AT/APERS mines on the roads, give the Engineer/Explosives Specialist something to do. Perhaps you can write a script that creates them randomly on roads? Big Grin

I think you could make it more "eventful", if the convoy route had to go through enemy territory or escape from it, the plan and the mission showed that they were coming from the west and the route pretty much stayed clear of that area. Or if you want to be true to the OFP mission, have no intel on the enemy at all, just "there might be some somewhere".

I did enjoy the mission's concept and atmosphere, I'd like to see some more utilizing different factions/paths. North-western Altis does seem to have some nice mountain roads.
Just two thoughts I had: place an enemy convoy / broken down convoy down the road. Have an enemy team chasing us on the road, but from behind us.
We completed Mountain King. A wonderful missions! Definitely a step for me to liking this game. I loved the wonderful view we had from the mountainous area and the fact we could plan our attack from high above like that. The rest I'll describe in the debriefing thread...

Glad to hear you liked it. The area I chose specifically because I think it is one of the most beautiful areas on Altis Smile
