Got it too. I liked playing DayZ back in the days but the cheaters got me.
I wonder if it's woth it? Do we get to use stuff from the game in Arma 3, later maybe? If so, I would buy the game. On the other hand, I played so little DayZ as a mod that I don't think I really need stand alone version.

I was following this on another forum and are they pulling an A3 style release with 20 bucks for alpha and 50 for final release?
Yeah. 23 Euros or so now, more later.
Not entirely impressed with it but it's in Alpha so I guess it's to be expected. I see a lot of imbalances and a lot of the things that plagued the mod but they can still be fixed and changed easily as long as they actually do it and don't just leave them in place. At least it's cheap though.
