Ok during our last night mission, one of mistakes in tactics were because of wrong selection for putting mines.
putting mines in a wide position, specially if it's against AI enemies, not player, is wrong selection as if they get alert, they always try to move surrounding and hiding behind covers such objects, trees, bushes, rocks and etc.

There was a reason for placing the mines there. There was an incline towards a lower field. I was expecting to stay on the road or the houses behind it, so anyone could have been sneaking up on us along this area, and in fact the last time we played this mission this is exactly what happened. So these mines were not primarily intended to kill someone, but rather deny the enemy a chance to sneak up on us.

Thx Alwarren, you know, it's my experience during many SP missions that if putting mines near those mentioned objects and obstacles, they will be significantly more effective than putting far from them, even sometimes they all hit enemies.
Worth mentioning in the this thread that it's better to avoid placing mines and explosives on roads. The AI easily detect them and elegantly avoid them. Place mines on the side of the road and even try top place them behind objects.
