Full Version: Removing Massi and Aggressors, Updating CUP

Hi all,

Thanks to the latest CUP release, we are performing a significant update to our addon requirements, updating CUP to the latest version and removing others.
  • All of Massi's addons have been removed.
  • CAF aggressors has been removed.
  • CUP units, weapons, and vehicles are updated.
We are aware some missions on the server that require the removed addons will not work now, but these are mostly from the lower player count. However, we are considering creating an addon that automatically converts missions using removed addons to other addons which we use.

PwS and A3Sync profiles are updated.
I personally am happy that we removed Agressors but I personally disagree with removing Massi's units. My reason for that is, I know the last or second last patch broke them but Massi seems to have updated and fixed it (some may still be in process of updating) in the last few days/week. They are also now separate it seems after the updates and no longer @mas. I personally like having as many good units as possible, and don't get me wrong CUP units are great but for me personally they can get boring playing with CUP and even vanilla, same M4s etc constantly. Or atleast just use the working ones like RGRU/USSOCOM/USMC.

I understand there are not many Massi missions but I prefer to have opportunity to play in one than not.

Removing massi's addons has nothing to do with them getting broken down in the last game patch, and we are aware of the fixes. The reason is that we hardly ever play missions that require them. We have missions that use them but they are mostly for lower player count and hardly ever played during coop nights. At least not enough to justify such a big pack.

Our mission makers do not use massi, and have no intentions of doing so. Had one of our mission makers made missions that require massi, we wouldn't have removed it.

You are welcome to make missions with massi's addons, if you'll make enough that fit our player number we will reintroduce it.

I use them as they have UK SF, East European, African, & Taliban units.
Are there BAF & Taliban units in CUP? Not had time to check yet.

BAF isn't out yet. Taliban units should be coming soon if you check out some of Alwarren's screenshots.
Why are massi and aggressor addons being removed?

I have to agree with DEN

AiATP has a number of Middle East Maps representing Afghanistan Syria etc. So having Massi addons makes for  much more realistic missions, than using nothing but Sov V USA.

Also his units seem to have  more realistic damage settings, you hit them & they go down, unlike default, which can take quite a number of hits before they even stop shooting.

In my humble opinion cia has done itself a disservice by removing @Massi
Guys, it's very simple - there are hardly any missions with Massi units for the usual player count on CiA coop night. So, the equation is simple:
You want Massi? Make missions with Massi!
Just to clarify, I'm not kidding, if we'll have something like more than 8 missions (no respawn, proper coop) with 10-16 slots using massi addons, or any other addon for that matter, we will be glad to add the required addons to the server.

This rule goes for custom islands as well Tongue . There are some beautiful ones out there. They just need some missions.
