I tried it in a mission, and can confirm it works as expected - setting the variable will disable free spectator camera.

I would have to strongly object to that. Limiting my movement of the spectating camera is something that I absolutely hate. I find it annoying and infuriating and I don't care at all about "spoiling" the mission for my self. If this was to become the norm I would just never spectate again.

TBH, I was thinking of adding a system similar to what Stag uses in his mission with the view distance etc, persistent over all FHQ missions, that would also allow to personally disable the free spectator camera but allow it to be enabled for people who want it.
I would also object. I don't like being restricted either. Spoiling in Arma is pretty uncommon, mainly because the AI moves differently all the time, anyway... I don't think such a restriction is necessary, and I also appose to it being a standard.

What we can do is add an addon that you either load or don't load. If you load it, it will disable the free spectator mode for you. That way, anyone can determine for himself whether they want it disabled or not
That would be great Varanon! Not a high priority thing, of course, but I would, at least, find it helpful.
