Anitivir detects FDF mod - TonyMarony - 03-24-2008
Hola Comrades,
i installed the Professional Version of Antivir (http://www.Avira.com) and it seems to be a bit Ãberprofessional, because it detects FDF Mod as Part of Adspy/Casino virus. Or is it really a problem for Antivir programs? Did anyone have similar errors with it so far?
It seems to be a problem, because for viruses i cant define exceptions... And so i get some annoying messages every time i start windows or specific programs.
Does anyone know what to do best here (before i post that stuff to Avira...)

I dont know about that tony, but why dont you use the freeware AVG antivirus? I think it's the best around, it updates daily and doesnt seem to affect performance. I use it for few years now, I dont surf safely but didnt infect myself even once because of it.

Hi Var,
yeah, now i ask myself too... I decided to buy it, because i use my laptop not only private and because of the additonal security tools, that sounded nice. but now i have to care about problems i didnt had before. That proofs again: Never change a running system, hehe. I saw a topic in a forum about exactly that problem, but there was no solution for it, so i guess i am not the only one with that problem and there is sure a solution, i just have to find the one who knows it ;-). So if anyone has a hint, i´d be glad!

hmm.... I think the best way is to contact support of Avira. You paid for the software, so you can contact them. And maybe this will help more people with the problem.
But if they don't want to help, you have a problem. But asking never hurt.

Sorted this one out ;D.
I contacted the fdf team on their forum. Easy solution: Delete the fdf.exe and replace it with the original ofp.exe with some mod-folder command. Easy and effective ;D.
the fdf.exe does nothing special, just starts ofp with some preset parameters...
