it does say error bad login name and / or password wrong and i have tried to use other login names

You only need to fill:
"Server Adress"
"Nickname"
"Server Passowrd"
You should choose "Anonymous".
I belive that you choose "Registred" and filled "User Password" and that's why you get error.
