Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Outlawz7 - 10-29-2013

760's price dropped by 4 euros. :/

Meanwhile, is this monitor any good?

LED LCD 23" AOC E2350Shk

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Variable - 10-29-2013

I'd go for something bigger.

This.  Really, I have a crappy PC with a huge 30" (1600x2650) monitor, and that was the best investment I've done to my PC (and the SSD maybe).  Every time I go to work to a 24" monitor I feel crippled in desktop space.
So I would recommend anything above 24" if you can invest a few € more.

Downside is you need a powerfull GPU to run A3 on those resolutions...

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Outlawz7 - 10-31-2013

I was thinking of switching 760 to 770 and screw the monitor for now. I'll wait til this Flatron kicks it, it just had it's 10th birthday and it's still going.

I'm not getting 30", at least not from that site, it's €1300, fucking hell.

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Rund - 10-31-2013

the gap between 28"and 30" inch is huge indeed (1300€ is too much, I think you can get one for 900€).
Anyway, 28" will do fine.

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Outlawz7 - 11-20-2013

I bought GTX 770. Will 550W PSU still hold, because it says 600W is recommended for this card.

I used this to calculate, it came out at 386W

edit: this says yes

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Variable - 11-20-2013

Outlawz ignore the stupid "power supply requirement of the card, it's just ass covering or something.
GFX cards don't even get close to what they "require" and the calculation you posted seems quite right. I have a GTX 680 and I remeber it said it needs 650W or something like that. I have 550W and it's ok.

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Outlawz7 - 11-22-2013

Couldn't run the card on this PSU, wants 8+6 pins and I only got 6+2

I'm looking at a LC8700II and GE-E620A-C3. Thoughts?

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Horus - 11-23-2013

Buy Chieftec  Wink

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Outlawz7 - 11-23-2013

Will defo get that, nice one Horus.

I borrowed a PSU to get the card running. I think this is all max at 25 FPS (no other units though).

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  ;D

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Alwarren - 11-24-2013

You... you... you are playing with CROSSHAIRS on? Wink

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Rund - 11-24-2013

The 770 just had a massive price drop here (about 100€) and it seems to hold up at large resolutions quite well While the 780 is a bit better, it's price is still at €460  :o  WTF?
So my choice has changed to this one: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/335374/msi-geforce-gtx-770-twin-frozr-gaming-2gb-oc.html

And a stupid question, but what's the difference between the K and non-K versions of the i7 or i5 CPUs?

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Horus - 11-24-2013

K is for gaming but if you use computer to make money non-K is better.
K have unlocked multiplier but don't have Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O, Intel® TSX-NI and Trusted Execution Technology ‡ which non-K version have.

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Rund - 11-24-2013

Ah, so those features are for security / stability stuff?  I can live without that, this PC will be Arma + Mediacenter + dev stuff.

Re: New Arma-3 ready PC - Misha - 11-24-2013

Hm, 770 still around 350 eur around here. But isn't it better to wait for next generation, may be close?
