Arma 3 editor question - simon - 12-21-2013

hi all .  very important question!..

how can i do that IF unit is arrive  to spacific point only then a Vehicle is coming to his point.
let me explain it in other way for your convenient,: if soldier is coming to point "A" in any time, ONLY THEN a car or any other Vehicle is arrive ,to pick him up or whatever.
if anyone knows this, please .

Re: Arma 3 editor question - Lightspeed - 12-22-2013

synchronise the vehicle waypoint to the trigger. so when unit present at A = true; then vehicle can travel from the waypoint.

Tried that, doesn't work.          here is pics of what i did-

Hi Simon,

nice to find you in the mission editor yet! This is indeed a very important question and a very basic one too. So i guess you may find various other questions occur, where a basic guide can be a big help. If you are searching for any good one, i might suggest Mr. Murrays, which contains very specific explanation of all the stuff you will find in the editor. So this guide may be your first choice of advice if you hit any obstacle in your way to your mission.
You can download this one at armaholic: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=4847

If you are searching for something more basic stuff and Arma3 you can try this one: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=21042.
I think its not bad either and contains the most important things (written for Arma3, but will also be adoptable for Arma2).

And of course you can find lot of stuff of tutorials in Youtube (if you are more on the video side of learning ;-) ). Check out: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=arma+2+basic+tutorial+english&sm=3

Have fun!

look interesting. thanks!

Re: Arma 3 editor question - Variable - 12-22-2013

Simon if it doesn't work for you then you are doing something wrong.
And I would start with Phantom's mission editing guide - http://phantommissionsite.weebly.com/arma-3.html (Tony shame on you for not suggesting a fellow member's guide! Wink)

Re: Arma 3 editor question - TonyMarony - 12-22-2013

i sure forgot a hell lot of good tutorials out there (maybe we have to think about our cookbook again...) and Phantoms i forgot really too, but on the other hand, its of great value when it comes to the tasks and briefings, but not as much for the basic editor stuff.

But i was sure as i wrote my post, that my fellow comrades will add the missing important stuff :-)!

Re: Arma 3 editor question - Phantom - 12-22-2013

Tony's right on the tasks and briefing side. It's good for starting template too, but say you want to know how to do some other basic stuff I haven't covered them. Well, I did have an extra section (with only one other tut for placing units inside building which I use to use a lot but FHQ debug console does it way faster and much more efficiently). I did intend to add different things to cover for that part in the past but haven't had suggestions.

Try grouping vehicle to waypoint instead (I'll try explaining more thoroughly when I get on my computer haven't fully woke up yet)

Re: Arma 3 editor question - simon - 12-23-2013

searched and searched, and still didn't find my answer. i'm starting to think that can't be done.

The answer is what Lightspeed explained to you. It's quite a simple thing.

Wanna enlighten us???
I thought they always moved to the 1st waypoint, so best place a 2nd waypoint (sync'd to the trigger)right in front/next to the 1st waypoint!
Then the next waypoint to where you wanted the vehicle to move to once the trigger had fired?

Re: Arma 3 editor question - simon - 12-23-2013

You are very right ck , i just didnt know you need to sync the second waypoint so i sync the first. isn't that funny..

Re: Arma 3 editor question - ck-claw - 12-23-2013

Ah glad you got it sorted.
The joys of mission editing ;D
