Would clearing CMOS help anything? It looks even more risky than updating BIOS.

mobo and CPU are barely a week old though, so not sure how that would be an issue
edit: reading more, doesn't seem be related to my issue. I'm starting to grasp at straws here.

Did you run a memteat? There is a life CD called memtest86 that is quite good, since you didn't get new RAM

I did, twice, and I borrowed RAM to verify it wasn't my RAM. Please read the thread, starting to go in circles here.

I had the same issue on Insurgency and I've had it for two months now. Also I don't think I ever got a 'device removed' error, just plain black screen and freeze.

My issues started back in November when I got the new GPU. Randomly crashed with either gray or black screen with the audio still going. I the RPT the last entry was always DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

My audio got cut off 5 secs after screen goes black and no such error in my RPTs from the crashed sessions.

It hasn't crashed in 2.5 hours after doing what the quote describes, but that could just be the crash taking its time again. I don't have much time during weekdays and I have until Friday morning to pickup the new GPU or cancel it (hopefully I still can).

I set up a mission with 200 respawning AI battling it out in Kavala and left ArmA3 running while I was at work. 8 hours later, no crash. Above link worked. I canceled my GPU order.

P.S.
There might be a possibility that I'm saying this too early, but I was running ArmA3 since 4am on and off and it didn't crash until then, so I'm hoping 8 hours is more than enough of a good sign.
Lesson learned, never go for hardware until you ruled out software... :-\
