Played Lazy Pig Squad Sunday and I think we did a decent job considering almost all our deaths was pure accidents. Mikka tried to get out of a moving UAZ, I tried to get out of a UH 2mm too high, BornmaN lost connection and Ugi? Yes, what happend? All I know is he was killed almost before mission even started.
Don't think I have experienced that before. Maybe we should rename it to Disastrous Fools Squad or something?  ;D

Good work with the chopper Gum, never played this mission with a working chopper before.

BRIEFING

Sitaution
a) Enemy:
Platoon sized insurgent infantry unit gained a foothold in ANNAR DAREH. Their anticipated course of action upon contact is to withdraw from the city to the west.

b) Friendly:
1st Company, 2nd Regiment, 14th Airborne Division:

1st Platoon, dismounted (AI controlled)
2nd Platoon, mechanised:
- 1st Squad (AI controlled)
- 2nd Squad (AI controlled)
- 3rd Squad (Players)
- Platoon Headquarters (AI controlled)
3rd Platoon (AI controlled): In Reserve

Batallion sniper team will overwatch the operation (also AI).

c) Civilian:
Intel reports no civilians present in ANNAR DAREH

Mission
Drive insurgents out of ANNAR DAREH

Execution
Company Commander's Intent
Have ANNAR DAREH in friendly hands and the occupying insurgent forces destroyed to prevent them from reentering the town after friendly forces have withdrawn.

a) Movement Plan
1st Platoon (AI controlled) will be air-inserted to blocking positions north, west and south of ANNAR DAREH by the 12th Airlift Squadron.

2nd Platoon (includes players' squad) will assault ANNAR DAREH from the east and push the insurgents out of the town where 1st Platoon's fixing forces can destroy them on their retreat.

b) 2nd Platoon Commander's briefing
Move mounted to the FUP
2nd squad amd Platoon HQ stay in depth
1st and 3rd squads (that's YOUR squad) charge into ANNAR DAREH

c) Summary/Timetable:
0730: 1st Platoon insertion
0745: NOW - 2nd Platoon start attack

Support
a) Fire Support Plan
Batallion Mortars (4 x 82mm tubes) have prepared fire missions for the target reference points  and DONAU. They are available via radio triggers.
Company Mortars (2 x 82mm tubes) are on-call for ad hoc fire missions to support the assault. ANNAR DAREH is declared a no fire zone to not risk the support of the civilian population.

b) Medical support:
Platoon medic moves with 2nd Plt HQ

VIRGO      -- Batallion mortars

MISSION NOTES
In this mission the players' squad is part of a larger force. In theory the AI can complete this mission on it's own without the players doing anything. Estimated play time 15 to 20 minutes.
Looks cool... hope to play it on Sunday.

This is where we need MJ's desert units.....
Made a test run with the mission, it could get laggy with all 9 slots being manned I'm afraid.
I'll see if I can optimise it.

I plan to restart work on this soon, honest. I should of done it weeks ago, but configing is just so damn boring. I might actually do a desert/ACU group of Americans too.

Btw, Im planning to change the medics in my UK units, making it so the combat medics are just regular infantry, just carrying a ton of bandages. And then with medical officers who are meant to stay in base, it means that medics can just stabilise someone, and you need to medivac back to base, creating an altogether more interesting and realistic experience.
