I decide to start on my first ARMA 3 mission (I'll take some time on off here and there since I'm in school now yet I still want to make missions here and there once I find some time).

I'm thinking about making a Rainbow Six style mission (the first one right now a terrorist hunt like kill everyone) and seeing how this will work out. I'll be using Zorilya Garrison script to improve the AI CQB and have them walk around the inside of a building and taking positions there. I used Lynx75 Object Positioning System ( http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.ph...ing-System ) to manually place some buildings around Stratis Airfield (and I removed some of the original buildings around there while I was at it.

So how I'm going to do this is after I placed the buildings, I'll place the enemy AI inside the buildings and they'll take positions there.

Now for loadouts is where I'll need some opinions. I'm not doing briefing loadout or ammobox loadout, but I'll use addactions instead. Hopefully I avoid the gun porn (but there shall be optional addon guns you can enable FHQ M4 for example) though I'm not so sure about optics porn. I was thinking of player choosing their gun via addaction. For example, if a player chooses a weapon that uses 5.56 mm (autofill with 8 mags), 6.5 mm (autofill 6 mags), 7.62 (autofill 4 mags), 9mm (autofill 10 mags). After that player chooses their ordinance (6 grenades OR 3 grenades & 3 flashbangs OR 6 flashbangs <flash bang must be enable in parameters and addons must be present if so>) (I don't know if I should add smokes as an option too or not but it'd be CQB). What'd you guys think about that?

After that I was thinking of the optics. I'm not going to include all the optics (sniper optics, TWS optics, other long range optics etc) since its CQB. I'm wondering if I should include the ACOG sights for use on default or no. I will include the Holosights and ACO on default, but I don't know whether I should include ACOG too or not.

Maybe I'll include the other optics in a box somewhere for certain missions, depending on situation, but most likely for defaults, no. Opinions anyone?

Kaitiba (6.5)
MK20 (5.56)
MXC (6.5) (I didn't include regular MX and only choose MXC since its a shorter variant to avoid multiple MX-es)
SDAR (5.56)
TRG20 (5.56) (I didn't include TRG21 since it seems like a longer barrel variant)
Vermin SMG (9 mm)
Scorpian SMG (9 mm)
MK18 (7.62)

No MGs. No Sniper Rifles (I guess the MK18 is a marksman rifle but it was the only 7.62).
Mk18? There should be no Mk18 in the game, there's an addon but not officially. I guess you mean the Mk14 EBR, that's a marksman/battle rifle, yeah.

Make sure that if you include the SDAR you give it standard rounds not dual-purpose. While the DP work out of water, their range and damage is shite.

I think they renamed it the Mk18 ABR in the game

ARGH! Why? The Mk18 is a variant of the M4, and even though it is almost exclusively used by the Navy, there's no reason to remane the Mk14.

Seriously, I want my contemporary weapons back. All that MX shite, why didn't they name them TAR-21, Stoner LMG, etc?
I didn't see the point of adding dual purpose ammo anyways. Should I include ACOG scopes for selection or no?

I'd say yes, they're pretty versatile with the backup sight and options are always good.
Phantom good luck with this project!
I'd say go mainly on contemporary weapons using FHQ.

Yepp -the RCO is pretty much the only scope i use  8)
Hmm, I wonder if I should go 8 players coop like Ravenshield max for coop or 10 players like SWAT 4 TSS max (5 blue 5 red).

Alright, I got myself a handful of gun addons too. I'll make them optional though, maybe putting all the guns (I'm not going to put all the guns of each pack). Machineguns and sniper rifles I'm not going to add. I don't know what I should leave out or what not yet, but the ones I'm definitely including will be FHQ and Flashbangs.

I got FHQ Weapons, R3F Weapons, MP7 addon, DGArmory SG551, HK430&M4Benelli, Beneli Addon, NATO Russian/SF Weapons, IanSky_Scope_Mod (doesn't seem like I can attach to anything yet), Mikes AK Pack, RH PDW, RH Pistol.

All custom weapons will be optional (disable/enable via parameters), I'm just wondering which one isn't worth it at all.

Alright, I'll go with 10 player coop. Players who join in the beginning can choose their own gear (JIP people will have to deal with the bots default gears and bots get default gears.)

Ammo wise per weapons...

I'm thinking 5 mags for rifles 8 for SMGs (10 was too much it didn't all fit)

For AI default gear I got
Scorpion EVO-4 (9mm SMG) - 8 mags (30rnd each)
ACO optics

P07 Pistol - 4 mags (16rnd each)

6 grenades

(or 3 grenades 3 flashbangs if you enable flashbangs via parameters).

Any comments?
I say go iron sights only. It's good for up close and personal CQB and we rarely get to play missions with iron sights.
Alright, I'll add a parameter as default (Ironsights only), or choose (All available optics), or (disable ACOGs)
I wouldn't really make it so complex. I'd go with a set loadout for players, maybe a bit of extra stuff in the briefing, but not too much. I have been guilty of overloading the briefing myself, but a bit of option is good, and otherwise, it becomes too much.

Just my opinion though.
I'm with Alwarren, go with a preset of weapons, maybe a bit of additional ones in the briefing (which works now, yay), and that's it.
I already made the system out last week so I'm not going to just toss it out.
