Is it just possible that lots of bullets flying could be a significant lag factor? I ask because I've observed that, first of all, desync almost never seems to occur when there's no shooting.
Also, my mission seems to have sporadic desync issues, and the only thing really unique about it seems to be an awful lot of chaotic shooting in the first 5 minutes or so. We've played missions with more groups, more triggers, etc, without such a hassle, but there don't seem to be too many missions with so many bullets flying everywhere.
But it's weird, just this week we've played the mission three times, and once it's gone flawlessly (in terms of performance, that is), once some people have experienced occasional desync (I didn't), and once it's desynced everyone to hell and crashed the server. Different players with different pings, maybe?
I'm curious: do ArmA1 and ArmA2 have such serious desync problems?

I've read that tutorial, not sure if it would help with the sort of desync we experience. :-\
There seems to be all sorts of contradictory advice regarding OFP performance. For example Zwobot was just remarking that triggers with conditions other than "this" could poll hundreds of times a second, leading to lag. But that tutorial is suggesting placing just that sort of trigger. ???
