Good to know. I don't get it why didn't they a CAS plane campaigns first mission an introductory one? Follow waypoints, shoot some stuff (no AA) and get home. Then introduce some handheld AA stuff, later some serious sh*t. This way I get bored with learning, then I hit a wall when trying to actually play.
I recall the times where there were flight sims with decent dynamic campaigns. Some people whine about Falcon 4.0 being way more simplistic than DCS (level of detail), but I'll never forget the feeling of "being there". I died at start too but for me it was more believable.
Also had great fun with Total Air War (F22). The dynamic campaign was far from perfect, but I really enjoyed deep strikes once the enemy's air defense was weakened. Same feeling of "being there".
TBH I don't get the same in DCS. It's obviously ages ahead of Falcon regarding fidelity, but it lacks the soul of Falcon. You die? Just restart the mission. Didn't die (theoretically in my case )? Next mission. In the case of DCS it doesn't really matter how well you did, the next mission always starts the same. Okay, there are variations, but you get the point.
Il2DCG (dynamic campaign for Il2 Sturmovik) isn't really deep, but it's way more satisfactory for me, than all the linear campaigns people made. This is my usual rant about Arma missions too Don't stray away from the waypoints, you'll find an empty map.
I just stare dumbly when I have to say something smart.
