Yeah, they were good fun and I certainly learnt a lot in just those few sessions, that would have taken me a lot longer to figure out on my own. Using the Phantasmagoria (I still can't believe that's a real word!) to take out the Anti-Air defences was quite simple. Being able to find and target a tank on the Shvkal whilst flying towards it at 400km/h is just something that comes with a lot of practice though I guess
There's some nice laidback sounding squadrons who post their details on the DCS forum, who specialise in teaching newbs like us (one that focuses on the UH-1H and has ex-pilots and instructors), so you might want to investigate those in the meantime. The problem is finding one that operates on a suitable day, as a lot seem to be on Thursday or Sunday.
