That actually depends on the AI skill (most notably spotTime), lighting etc. AI does not recognize you instantly, in fact, it is possible to run in front of an AI and away again without getting noticed at all.
Once they did notice you, they will still have to turn in your direction, which isn't going to be instantaneously. All in all, you will have plenty of time (well, figuratively speaking ) until the AI starts shooting.
