i was plannin to buy a pc for a while, and i don't have much experience in planning a custom configuration for myself, so i'd just like some comments, suggestions, about this here, that is the currently selected components [with help of.. let's say, "amateur computer pros ;D"] so i'm not really relying on their experience either Tongue

guess you understand what's what, but if not then just ask ;D

got about that much cash '~132.000Ft = ~470euros' but don't wanna spend more than 500 so try to avoid suggestions like "buy xy1234, it's 50% faster and costs only 50 euros more" cuz i can't afford :-\

so the point in all of these: i'm asking for your help to me find the most powerful configuration for that price 8)

grtz

If you have money for that computer then buy it Tongue
Well i just mean that computer is ok to run arma2 too.
I dont know very good your prices but in here computer like that would cost ~~500€

so it's almosssssst 500 Big Grin

this goes out to the others also:

i just don't know if it would be really good cuz i heard something that, "some components like eachother more than others" or something like that, heh, i dunno, plus i'd like some info on the motherboard cuz i have a bunch of them here and i don't know the difference. guess it's the size, and if it is the smaller one that can hold these other parts that are currently selected would be enough for me, i don't need more space to add 200 more videocards later or something

by the way, link to this configurator thingy, so you can see the selection:

ps: damn lenin you were faster ;D
The 160GB drive seems odd. If prices in Finland are anything to go by, the sweet spot is on the biggest drives, and on the low end a 5 eur extra investment doubles the size. And you always need more hd space.

Here's a comparison on Samsung SpinPoint F1 drives from http://www.verkkokauppa.com/ :

(Gigabytes / eur = ? GB/eur)

> 160/38,9
ans = 4,11311

> 250/43,9
ans = 5,69476

> 320/44,9
ans = 7,12695

> 500/55,9
ans = 8,94454

> 640/61,9
ans = 10,3393

> 750/71,9
ans = 10,4312

> 1000/81,9
ans = 12,21
true, changed to 320GB for about +6 euros [but seen the same in "WD" not "Samsung" for 1 euro cheaper ;D so maybe that one ;D;D]

so the current status with the samsung one

I dont really think 320 GB is enough for your porn collection Ferenczi  ;D
Anyway for the serious business how much that processor costs in that picture on euros?
believe it or not, i even have free space on a 150GB hdd, i always delete everything useless Wink but for only 5-6 euros more, why not double the size, as pulv said

proc price:
32947:280= ~118 euros
seems that videocard is not in the list anymore :o
could use some help about that and the motherboard and everything.. wanna order asap :-X

Go for E7400, save those $25 for something like GTX260/HD4870 (with a little more money added - yeah I know that $25 aren't much but they still can be useful) because tbh 4850 isn't that good - go for a better vidcard. E7400 is basically an underclocked E7500 so there is no reason to spend more on a mere 130 MHz that you can add anyway and both CPUs have the same overclocking ceiling obviously.
box or oem version? i have no idea what else can be in the box version, but

first i gotta tell that as i see, the prices and products changed a bit, the E7500 went down yesterday by ~5euros so now it's ~112 euros if i compare this with the e7400 [which is currently ~94 in oem, ~101 in box version], i save maximum 8 euros. the power supply that was chosen is not in the list anymore so i just choose a similar 600W and selected that [bit cheaper in price]. also changed the MB, [in spite of that i still need help with it] but as i see, i still didn't reach the fatal deadline with a HD4870.

so currently:

seems the only task left is to select the perfect mb..
Well I don't know anything about the current supply of motherboards, but I have Asus P5K from 1.5 years ago (with extensive research first of course Wink) and I would say get Asus.

See this article at tomshardware for the best/random budget socket-775 motherboards, sadly no Gigabytes in the comparison though.

ASUS is good choice for motherboard. It supports most of processors and video cards. But if you buy ASUS motherboard make sure you buy ASUS Ati Radeon hd4870, not Sapphire.

1st reply:
told me to change that m-tech 600W to a gigabyte superb 460W (reason: m-tech is unreliable, 600W would be useless); claimed that i should change the memory to "reaper kit" instead of "gold kit", but didn't say why; and also said that probably the mb fits.

the changes would result in ~+20euros. close to the deadline but maybe(?!) still ok..
