THE SHRINE

BRIEFING
Our company was deployed to the village of Kvilda to contain insurgent operations in the area. Since our arrival Kvilda has been shelled daily by mortars. The suspected location of the mortar positions is around the hill nicknamed "The Shrine". In order to strengthen our position in the area and prevent further harm to the civilian population of Kvilda we have to drive the enemy off this vantage point.

SITUATION
Enemy Forces:
Enemy insurgents are dug in around the Shrine which is an enemy stronghold in the area. Recon indicates that the enemy has deployed a force of about company strength on and around the hill.

Long range observation could not reveal the exact location of the mortar position(s) which means that they are likely to be located west of the Shrine in a reverse slope position.

Friendly Forces:
1 Infantry Platoon:
  - HQ team (Callsign Command)
  - Alpha squad (Callsign Alpha)
  - Bravo squad (Callsign Bravo)
  - Weapons squad (Callsign Charlie)
  - Mortar team (Callsign Delta)

The platoon is staged at the FUP north-east of the main objective.

{b]MISSION[/b]
- Seize objective Keyhole, a small hill east of the Shrine.
- Seize main objective the Shrine.
- Destroy enemy mortar positions in the AO.
- Consolidate and dig in for possible counter attacks.

EXECUTION
Company Commander's Intent:
To have the Shrine cleared of enemy forces and mortar positions destroyed.
Movement Plan:
At PltCo's discretion.
Fire Support Plan:
At PltCo's discretion.
Tasks:
Ensure enemy mortar positions are destroyed or disabled.

SERVICE/SUPPORT
Support:
Mi-24 Gunship (Callsign Ghost 1) is on station for CAS request. PltCo can call it in via radio.
Resupply:
Additional mortar ammunition is stashed at the FUP.

All squad leaders, the PltCo and FO have to be channel commanders. All other players may be channel commander too if you want to HEAR the command chatter but you should NOT TALK as Channel Commander unless you are a Squad Leader or the FO.

All please map a key to change channel in TS, to become Channel Commander and to speak as Channel Commander or make sure you can safely Alt-Tab out of the game and back to change said TS settings.

Please do not fill slots marked wit Reserve before all the infantry slots in Alpha and Bravo squads are filled first.
The mortar team has to operate a WGL mortar, please do not sign up for this position unless you are familiar with operating the WGL mortars.
I recommend to only slot the Forward Observer in the mortar team and leave the other 2 slots as AI so the FO can fire and reload the mortar with the AIs while the FO himself does the spotting.

Group: Charlie
Tasks:
1. Last in order of march (OOM) to new FUP.
2. Clear towards 250 feature.
3. Establish SBF position on 250 feature.
4. Provide SBF on Obj Keyhole.
5. Cutoff enemy (en) withdrawing or reinforcing Obj keyhole.
6. Be prepared to (BPT) assault Obj Keyhole.

Groups: Alpha, Bravo, Command
Tasks:
1. First in OOM to new FUP.
2. Secure new FUP.
3. Assault Obj Keyhole.
4. Seize Obj Keyhole.
5. More details when numbers slotted known.

Group: Delta
Tasks:
1. Mortar remain at AA.
2. FO with PHQ in move to FUP.
3. Move to SBF position with Charlie.
4. Adjust onto Obj Keyhole (minimum rounds!).
5. 3 rounds FFE on Obj keyhole prior to H-Hour.
6. BPT provide Defensive Fires (DFs) on order (O/O).

Alpha, Bravo PHQ move to FUP2 and marry up with SBF squad.
Reorg (redistribute ammo).
All callsigns move to FUP2 along route shown.
PHQ will assess terrain and position SBF.
Assault on Obj Shrine up valley then NE onto Obj Shrine.
Seize and hold Obj Shrine.


Groupings & Tasks  (Phase II)
Group: Charlie
Tasks:
1. First in order of march (OOM) to FUP2.
2. Secure FUP2.
3. BPT to establish SBF position o/o (on order).
4. BPT assault Obj Shrine if needed..
5. BPT move onto Obj Shrine and defend once seized.

Groups: Alpha, Bravo, Command
Tasks:
1. Move to FUP2 and marry up with SBF.
2. Second in OOM to FUP2.
3. BPT Assault and seize Obj Shrine o/o.
4. Marksman be prepared for tasking on high ground to SW.
5. BPT defend Obj Shrine once seized.

Group: Delta
Tasks:
1. Mortar remain at AA.
2. FO with PHQ in move to FUP2 once married up at SBF pos.
3. BPT provide firemission o/o on Obj Shrine.
4. BPT provide Defensive Fires (DFs) on order (O/O).

I'd only like to slot 1 player into the mortar team in the FO slot (unless there are lots of players and wee need extra slots which is unlikely in a 23 slot mission) and let him control the mortar with AI gunner and loader because it can be quite a boring mission for a human gunner when you have to wait for fire mission requests...

But if both of you really want to be on the mortar team I will slot in Marto as FO and T-34 as gunner. Is that okay for you? T-34 would have to operate the mortar/FCS (Fire Control System).
Add me as sniper if  I'm able to join tomorrow and if  it's a SVD.
But if someone else want that slot it's ok, I'm probably not able to join early enough to start.
