LOL me too
It's funny because you both have your birthday today. Coincidence? I think not.
Naw, must be the birthday Big Grin
Would be cool to see maybe a few missions with scuba insertion and exfil. Actually now that I type this, I'm almost inspired to try editing again. Doesn't hurt to suggest it here though for others, so far all my attempts at mission making get side tracked.
For DCS -- looking at you Manuel since I don't know how to use DCS Editor Smile

Mirage Interceptor: Time is of the essence. Russians have a bomber inbound along with escort force. Take it out before it hits the airbase.

Mirage Escort: Escort friendly bomber(s) into enemy territory in order to delivery payload. Also escort bomber home?

A10 / Mirage Laser Tag: A10 and Mirage laser designating

Mirage Fast and Low: Map of the earth into enemy territory in order to drop bombs on enemy target. Go above the hard-deck and fail.

A10 Tank Buster: Friendly forces require a few Warthogs in order to destroy the enemies front line defense of tanks. Timed, show friendly convoy position and enemy area it needs to get through safety. Too many losses is a fail.

Air Refueling Training: Cause we've never done it, and it could be fun (or terrible and funny to spectate).

A10 Ground Pound: Guerilla forces have been stockpiling armament somewhere in the Caucus mountains. Have approximate regions to check and destroy located stashes.
I have a plan for a mission that would be a little unconventional for us. Essentially a mission that would show some of the difficulties of calling in support.

Players would be an FST (Fire Support Team), so something along the lines of a leader, a (FSO)Fire Support Officer, a JTAC a medic and maybe a couple of riflemen, an officer in command of an AI platoon, air support and then a single player in the FDC (Fire Direction Centre) well away from the actual fight.

The idea being that only the JTAC has a line of communication to the air support, and only the FDC can control the artillery support, and only the FSO has a line to the FDC (and thinking about it, I could have an air ops room who has a line to both air and the FDC so they can deconflict and coordinate support), and the AI platoon has an objective to take, and the players have overwhelming support, it's just there is a disconnect in being able to call it in. And the challenge in the mission is coordinating support to allow the AI platoon to win. Using ACRE makes this easier, but you'd have to have separate long range frequencies for the various lines of communication.

I'm pretty much just putting this here so I don't bottle this on here.

Good ideas Etzu. I actually have some of them already covered:

Mirage Interceptor: One of the instant action missions for the M2000 is pretty much that, only with an AWACS instead of a bomber. I did 'convert' it into a 2 player mission a while ago.

Mirage Escort: I was playing around with something like that quite a while ago. My version was more about training to fly in formation with the bomber and ended up beeing almost a meditative experience. I intentionally made it a very long flight. I don't know if that is desired for coop games, but I could always put the target area closer to the start.

Air Refueling Training: I'd have to double check, but I think I did place airborne tankers in the NTTR training scenario.

I'll see when I get around to make some of them. But using the editor is not too complicated, in case you want to try it yourself (at least as long as you dont want to do anything script-heavy). And there should be plenty tutorials online Wink
I have an idea I'd do myself, but my skills are not upto scratch.

The idea is it's a dynamic last stand. So akin to all the other dynamic missions, it randomly picks a spot, or more likely picks randomly from one of a number of pre picked spots, and there's maybe some form of fortification. You get a little time to set up defences and mines (have a crate or 2 of mines) and stuff, and then enemies attack. But there's no winning this, you are going to die. And the idea is to see how long you can last before getting overrun and killed. There's no limit to the number of enemies who will come, some form of spawning system that will keep the number of enemies constant, you just need to see how long you can survive before death.
Dynamic mission: Guerrilla team(s) start behind enemy lines, in vicinity of an active artillery battery. Assisted by its firing sounds, the team needs to locate the battery, raid the compound, destroy the artillery pieces, and bug out. Team and battery locations are randomized.

Interesting idea... Actually I have an I44 mission that is almost identical, US Rangers airdropped on the eve of D-Day have misjumped and need to find their targets (AA Guns) by locating the sound of their fire.

I'll give that idea a try

That's great! I made several typos on my post, corrected now. On a second thought, such mission might be better suited for special forces. SAS?
Edit: Maybe instead of artillery guns use SCUD launches instead???
Yeah, I was thinking about  brits as well, haven't used them in a while.

SCUDS are great, but you want to find the position by their firing sound... when a SCUD launches, it's already too late.
You get one launch transient, but you see the missile very clearly.
