If by weird you mean the type VanhA made for Arma 2, then I'm a fan of weird missions!
Those would be the ones  Wink
This idea combines the elements of concealment, low visibility and stealth with close range combat in terrain with heavy foliage and enemy patrols.

Setting: Swamps at Limni(Altis) at night with mild fog and low moonlight

Level: There are no NV goggles in this mission, all units have flashlights. Players are a 5 man recon nato team using silenced carbines with thermal/nvg optics. Possible ghillie suits for badass factor? non armor plated vests for speed. Optional helmets.

Mission: Find the survivors of the helicopter that crashed in the middle of CSAT territory, evade patrols and leave undetected. Kill the officer if you can find his location?

Team: 5 guys or so?? TL, Med, 2 rifle, JTAC/EOD(this could be a sabotage mission instead, find the shit and laze it for the arty)

This just screams "cheap arma ripoff of COD campaign stealth level" any comments about this one?
I like the idea watchmen. Just beat in mind that missions rarely stay stealth. Just make sure to cater for the probable case of ai detecting the team.
I thought it was interesting to force players to see through their scopes or risk detection by turning on the flashlight. Yes it becomes moot once the stealth element is lost
Fast Attack Vehicles. A large enemy attack force is going to destroy one of your bases, they will traverse along a determined route, stop and destroy the enemy force along the way before they reach the base. 12 men with 3 cars where some have mounted guns.

Tests your ability to mobilize quickly and strategic use of terrain(eg: using forests as cover and engaging enemies in the open, using hills as overwatch). If the enemy force overwhelms you, fall back and form another defensive position along the route. Based on the GBA game advance wars, and similar to the commanding showcase mission. SideChat will inform you of enemy position.

2 fireteams with 5 men each, 3rd team of 2 marksmen. There will be very little AT work to do, i want this to be rifle focused(new ai suppression mechanics)
I got a good one, imagine this. A lone spotter coordinates artillery strikes near the frontlines but enemy forces are moving to destroy the artillery units with armor/infantry. 2 or 3 guys man the artillery while most of the players defend the artillery units from being destroyed. Maybe around 12-15 players? mission fails if all artillery is destroyed and finishes when targets are kia marked by the spotters.

Ps: just curious, is the frequency of my mission idea posts annoying. I hope it isnt.

I like this idea!

Not at all! The more the merrier!
The Nato unit is stranded on Altis without weapons and teams up with fia locals to share supplies
Here's an idea for a mission, although it can be like a new game mode.

It's partially inspired by the board game Resistance.

Let's say you as FiA, or whatever resistance fraction there is. In your team you have one or more traitors (double agents/sleepers/undercover government collaborators) whose task is to sabotage the mission and make it fail. They can do it either by failing at tasks given by the team leader or by proactively working towards the failure, like killing other team members when there are no witnesses, for example.

Sleepers win if mission fails, and FiA wins if it completes mission objectives.

I think this would bring another dimension to the gameplay. Decisions would have to be made not only from a military perspective, but also from the psychological perspective of trust. Players would watch each other's move with suspicion and team leader would have to think carefully to whom he would entrust some tasks or weapons.
I'm pretty sure we'd just be all paranoid 24/7  Tongue

Reminds me of Shacktac's The Game though

How about a mission where you sling load some cars/boats for a ground team that has to destroy AA sites, the ground team has to escort the transport In little birds for ffv fun to defend them from enemy helps trying to destroy the transport. Just some ideas

Not sure if there's a mission like this or just a shit idea.

How is the idea of a mission where the players are tasked with 'defending president (Or a highly political figure safe) & keeping order' (Start with minimum briefing as the events following are supposed to be unexpected) at a sports event (Olympics or something) at Kavala Stadium. There could also be civilians participating in the background like running around stadium track or something? Once 'chaos breaks out', several enemy vehicles arrive at the stadium, (Enemies are tasked with kidnapping the president), the president is taken inside the enemies' car and driven to a safehouse by the AI (not sure if you can script that or something) and players have to follow them in a car (Or have an alternative like 'find intel' on a body) and have to drive there and rescue him (obviously there will be more enemies there).

Mission is successful if president is rescued alive and fails if at any point he dies?

The players should be lightly armed (SMGs or something like that??) and have light vehicles.
Some options for players:
Blufor:
-African UN Forces > UN Security Contractors/Peacekeepers > MP7/M4/Shotgun (My preference) (Massi's African Pack since very few missions use these units from this pack)

Independant:
-African Governanties Forces & African President?? (Massi's African Pack)

-PMC ION

Enemies would have armoured vehicles (Unarmed) and higher quality/calibre weapons?
Typically missions like this are difficult to put into practice simply because Civilian AI is far from natural. I remember in ArmA 1, whenever there would be someone armed around, all the civilians would just hit the ground all together.

Arma is good at simulating combat. Anything else is a reach... unless you're good with FSM Wink
You have a team of AT specialists and your task is to destroy a large convoy of tanks and IFV's in an ambush. Make the first shot count!
