I'm tempted, but since I still didn't get a headtracker working, I'll have to pass... I guess I'll have to get TrackIR at one point -_-
Told ya Big Grin
Nooo! Don't spend £150 on some flimsy plastic thing. Try Edtracker for the price of a Pro Micro and MPU-9150 (or £40 ready-built) Smile
I don't know, I try all of those, and never got any decent result...
Was it the Edtracker2 with the MPU-9150 you tried though? The original used the 6050 and that apparently did have problems with drift (never tried that myself).

I don't have any experience with TrackIR but I would think if it works with IR LEDs then it would only work great in a room with the sunlight completely blocked out, same as the DIY LED approaches. You don't have to worry about that with Edtracker type devices

Some might prefer TrackIR's 6-DOF but personally I'm happy with Edtracker's 3-DOF. In fact I only use pitch and yaw but I might try mapping the roll axis to lean in ArmA.

The only downside for me with the Edtracker is the USB cable but I've got two audio cables going to my headphones anyway, so it's not a major issue. They are planning to release a wireless version (custom RF dongle, not Bluetooth) but not until 2016 I think. It probably wouldn't be that hard to adapt the code to work with the HC-05 BT module but as the Edtracker works as a HID device rather than serial, it would need a different approach to that which was suitable for the code we were using with the GY-85 and I really just got lucky working that out, so this would be beyond me.
I play DCS "Conan the Barbarian" style, no Track IR or any other similar device, just hatswitch, Of course, I'd like to have something, but my wife thinks I'm mad like this:

Anyway, as far as dogfighting AI goes, I can be a match, but probably not so much against humans. But I play SP mostly anyway.
Just fyi, I moved my rig and now my trackir gets confused, because i have a sunny window behind me at a certain time of day. It worked fine for years and now too, if I close the shutter. Isn't maybe that the case for you too? In short, alternate light sources/reflections, maybe.
Hey guys way to much talk and to little explosions going on.

Unnamed, Manuel and me are going to fly on Saturday from around 7pm UTC and blow shit up. We will be on the CIA TS server and Ill host the DCS server.

We will fly custom missions with human AFACs so no matter the aircraft or skill level we will be able to make something work/blow up.

So just let me know which plane you want to fly and how proficant you are with it, so I can add it to the missions accordingly.

Yes! I've been meaning to play this, but keep getting overwhelmed with the startup procedures. I have the Huey and Su25T.
Ja! It's about time that somebody took the initiative because I just can't organize DCS nights during this super busy times. And I never had good internet connection to allow for more than 4 players.

I still don't know if I would be able to participate, but I sort of learned to fly A-10C, although I would have to refresh my knowledge. Though SU-25T is surely easy to fly, and F-86 is a bit simple. Other planes... I'm not even sure what I have in my hangar Smile

UH-1 Transport or Guns?

And are you able to use guided missles on the SU25T?

I can throw in one of each for you. The question is do you want wo fly with unguided weapons or do you feel ready for a guided weapon loadout?
I can and use guided as well, but I think you can choose loadout on the ground when mission starts, so it's ok whatever you set by default.
