Hey guys we finally made it and had 5 people flying at the same time  Big Grin !!!

We started a little late and had Gun Run as a warm up. Some trouble finding targets, but CBUs and MOAR Rockets safed the day.

Next up was Highway to Poti. I tried to expand on the concept of the turtle mission with this one and tried to put a convoy countiniously beeing ambushed into an enviroment with several other threats. I hope I kept the AFAC busy and having a fourship formation of UH-1 enabled us to get one APC home alive.
I think the mission was a little too hard since all UH-1 died several times. I personally just could not see the MANPADS against the snow, so I might delete some of those and turn some AAA emplacements into trucks so they become more visible. Also the tank situation is more suited for a mission with the Ka50 since it takes ages for the AFAC to get the A-10 lined up. I am looking forward to what you guys thought about the mission.

I did enjoy the Wild Weasel mission. I dont know how the Mirage is when it comes to defending against missles, but I think it would be even more interesting when you fight IR AA platforms.

The last mission was the next one in the Draken campaign. It worked fine, but you could tell how late it was since both me and UnNamed managed to get killed  Wink .

For next time we will hopefully have the next episode in Manuels A-10 campaign, we stilpl have the JTAC mission ready and several F86 missions. Maybe I will even be able to get a P51 mission ready till next week.

@ Etzu We do have plenty of UH-1 slots for the nights to come. Su27 is a little hard to incorporate, but if you want to fly the A-10a, which can participate in almost any mission, you only need to figure out how to take off and shoot guns and unguided rockets.
Funny thing I was flying A-10C for so long that I forgot and maybe never learned what's the meaning of 70+ items in a start up procedure. So, when finally I had to use that knowledge I figured I can't do anything because following the list didn't teach me anything. Smile

I liked the first A-10 mission, as close and personal as it can get with this kind of plane, and I am happy that I was never downed by the enemy. I would think they thought I was a lousy shooter so they didn't bother firing missiles at me. Smile

However, upon RTB when I landed, I figured I just can't steer the plane, although steering worked just fine during the pre-takeoff taxiing. I had to park the plane on the side of the runway.

Next mission was also good and I am really enjoying flying Huey. Having said that, let me add that I have never flown combat missions in Huey before last two coops we had. So, this aspect of Huey is still new to me and a nice discovery.

Mission was very long and I had to quit somewhere in the middle. I think that there were too many enemies and distance the convoy had to cover was pretty long so even without enemies it would take more than an hour. It can get hard and certainly life expectancy for Huey's was short. I am suggesting lowering the amount of enemies or shortening the distance that convoy has to travel to increase realistic chances of survival. Respawning for 6-7 times made it unrealistic though there were many nice things going on, like escorting the convoy from up close and scanning ahead.

Looking forward to next Saturday. Now we are five, if we could get some other people from our player base that I know that play DCS we could be 7!
Gun Run
Started out a bit slow, had problem taking out some infantry, but once this was overcome things went smoother.

Highway to Poti
I really like the style of the mission but it was a bit too hard I would say. I kinda agree with Misha, respawning as often as we did made the victory taste a little stale.
Part of the problem was our strategy though, I think... I would propose something like this:
On heli next to the convoy, one a bit behind and two scouting ahead, but not too far. We had one situation with the two helis at the convoy beeing shot down by an ambush pretty much right away and the two others beeing far in front, so the convoy was alone too long. I think a formation like this might avoid this.

So to recap: I think the mission was great, but the resistance could get toned down a bit.

Wild Wiesel (belette brute Wink )
It was great to finally get to fly the Mirage in coop, even if it was only to play bait. After a very long time flying low and slow stuff it's awesome to finally get to do things like this

See if you can spot the A10 in the picture Smile

I've made a quick test run with IR SAMs. We can try it but it's going to be tricky. The M2000 doesn't have Missile warning (don't know whether it's not implemented yet or it just doesn't have it in real life...). It could work with an AFAC calling out missile launches, but without that it's pretty much impossible. The SAM gunners are smart enough to wait until I'm past them so I can't see the missile launching.

Draken
Sweet and short final mission for the evening. For some reason I was the only one to make it back home alive though...
damned sale...... (p51 and f86)

well.... didn't really do too much this time...  on gun run we had to resort to big bombs to find the last infantry and after we got the first target cleared I went to mostly an observer role which was also nice.. especially since my cluster bombs didn't really bother the enemy infantry.

highway to poti showed another time that since the 1.5 update they fucked up something about the thermals, its harf to impossible to find a tank in a field thats not coated with snow. i unfortunately missunderstood the convoys report of a tank and looked in the wron villade for some minutes and only killed the tank and an apc when all but one vehicles of the convoy were destroyed

on draken I took a hit and lost an engine and my navigation instruments, which led to me landing on the wrong airport and crashing because i touched down a few meters short of the runway and started rolling over.

the last mission was an interessting test, might be helpfull later but it was somewhat worring that the M2000 does not seem to have thread receivers.
Hey guys hope everybody is having a good week. I sadly will not be hosting the DCS night on saturday since I will be busy eating steaks, smoking cigars and drinking whiskey.

Hope somebody will be able to host and you guys have a good night of flying and explosions. Looking forward to your after action reports
I will also not be flying,  same reasons as Sithis.
I expect AAR of the whiskey-cigar evening like any other evening's AAR!
For technical reasons I won't be able to host  Tongue

If somebody is able to do that I'm up for flying.

And have fun Sithis and UnNamedGER, see you next saturday (the saturday after this one I mean...obviously)
Have fun you two! Finally someone else is having a Saturday night on a Saturday night!

I can host probably, it worked fine with my connection for up to three players and I never tested with more than that. But I have no missions, ones I had were deleted.

I have no time to look up for them because I am working from dawn till I drop my head on keyboard. However, I am willing to host for at least two hours (2000-2200 CET) on Saturday.

Who's up?
"In parallel we continue to work on the F/A-18C Hornet. We are currently working on the cockpit and setting up its functionality. Later in 2016 we plan to release the Hornet as an “Early Access” product that will allow you to participate in early testing."

Seems like I'm going to have to dust off my HOTAS some time this year.
First part of our AAR
[Image: LjI6Euj][Image: LjI6Euj.jpg]

A nice smooth Highland whisky,  even though I personally prefer islay or skye Whiskys definitely a good choice.  Paired with a nice flavor rich "My Uzi weights a ton +11"  cigar.  And some Kilkenny beer with my best friend Sithis. Not much else to ask for
Well first off Im sorry to take two people away from the DCS night by having my best friend UnNamed over, but of course you get the AAR you asked for.

The Whiskey is rather smooth, which I prefer in a whiskey, but combined with the Uzi I dont know if it was the right choice. The Uzi is full bodied and rather strong and beeing a Robusto it is nothing for women and children. So it really overpowers the taste of the whiskey a bit. Next time we might try one of the Rums with a stronger  taste or smoke a Candela (Alec Bradley Black Market) instead.
Ill be playing tomorrow, I need a lot of practise Smile
Okay! We're firing our engines at 2000CET!

I'm still lacking missions and no time to look for them, please get me some Smile

@Sithis @UnNamed - 'tis true that even virtual pilots are prone to drinking?
